House Erofili is another of Lena’s restorations of traditional Cretan artisan houses in the bohemian area of Splanzia, Chania, (pictured in the slideshow on the right, and on this page).

The sitting room Close to 1821 Square, with its many outdoor cafes, House Erofili is typical of Chania’s ancient stone-built artisan houses, stretching over three floors, and with a lovely balcony with views over the nearby sea. The city centre of Chania is a 10-minute walk away.

Many of the original features have been preserved, and there is an enormous and very traditonal Cretan wood-burning fireplace in the kitchen/sitting room. New lighting has been installed throughout (some with Lena’s special touches) so that the house is light and bright, and of course there is full air conditioning. There is also a secure safe for residents’ use.

House Erofili is able to accommodate up to 7 people, as it is spacious inside and outside. While the rooms are very comfortable, there is also a fully equipped kitchen. The balcony and terrace also give you a relaxing feeling while staring at the views.
Outside, there is a large area for an type of use, but also, the roof terrace is a place if you are looking for a quiet area to relax

Part of the sitting room House Erofili has a fully fitted kitchen dining room on the ground floor, with cooker and sink, washing machine, and all the pots and pans you need. There is a large fridge freezer too.

The decor is traditional Cretan, with many interesting antiques and ancient artefacts collected by Lena over the years.

The exceptional sea views and closeness to the exciting Old Harbour area of Chania are particular features of House Erofili. This is a house that is set in a narrow and fascinating street among houses belonging to the local people – a place to soak up the real atmosphere of Old Chania.

Luxurious double bed in the bedroom House Erofili is very comfortable, and suitable for renting at any time of the year, winter or summer.

This house provides an opportunity to live independently in the most interesting and laid-back area of Chania, where you can explore narrow streets and alleyways, while away the hours at the multitude of cafes, tavernas and restaurants, yet you are just 5 minutes walk from the Old Harbour – the hub of life in Chania – and 10 minutes walk from the small sandy beach and multitude of coffee houses at Koum Kapi.

A gentle 20-minute walk will bring you to Chania’s main beach at Nea Hora, with beach beds, parasols, many fish restaurants, and the wonderful shallow-beached sea.
